2011 Goals
Evaluate the performance and establish 2011 goals for the LaGrange Presbyterian Church staff. This process will include the Pastor, Music Director and Youth Minister. This process will be a fair and consistent way to evaluate the contributions of the key leaders in the life of our church. The evaluations will be completed by March 31, 2011.
Complete a review of LaGrange Presbyterian’s financial processes and accounts. The goal for the financial review is to ensure the soundness and accuracy of our financial processes and seek ways to improve. This will be a documented and repeatable process to ensure that LaGrange Presbyterian is in compliance with the Book of Order. The financial review will be completed and presented to the Session by March 31, 2011.
Implement a program for memorials and endowments. This program is intended to provide people with a way to establish endowments to LaGrange Presbyterian and offer memorial gifts. Research will be conducted on how to properly establish these forms of giving by September 30, 2011 and the program will be in place by December 31, 2011. Members of the congregation will be offered a financial seminar on endowment and memorial giving by a certified financial planner.
Document LaGrange Presbyterian’s financial and administrative processes. The goal is to ensure the critical processes are properly documented to ensure the smooth operation of the church office in future years. The processes will be identified and documented by June 30, 2011. The documentation will be maintained by the Finance & Administration Elder.
Determine if there is interest by the Congregation in an electronic giving option for providing tithes and offerings. The interest will be determined via a survey conducted by February 28, 2011. The goal is to provide an easy to use option for giving beyond the traditional offering plate that will encourage people to give regularly and eliminate gaps in giving due to vacations or time away from worship. If there is sufficient interest (at least 20% of Congregation) we will research and implement a process by December 31, 2011.
